Pork with Kraut and Apples

3-4 lbs boneless country ribs (usually the boneless
ones are cut from pork shoulder.)
2 quarts sauerkraut, thoroughly rinsed with water
3 cooking apples, peeled or not, as you choose, but
cored and cut into about 8 wedges per apple
black pepper
salt for the meat

In a large slow cooker, put the freshly rinsed kraut and layer
the apples on top. Salt the meat and fit the pieces on top of
the apples. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is
very tender.

I remember DGM made a dish like this which was to die for......
The sauerkraut was sweet, ie she rinsed and rinsed and rinsed out the salt.....
It was all wonderful
