1 1/2 cups (375 ml) whole wheat flour
1 cup (250 ml) all-purpose flour
1 cup (250 ml) powdered milk
1/3 cup (80 ml) bacon drippings, rendered beef fat,
or vegetable oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup (250 ml) water
Combine the flours and powdered milk in a bowl and drizzle
with the bacon drippings. Add the egg and water and mix to
form a dough. Roll to a thickness of 1/2 inch (1 cm) and cut
into shapes with small cookie cutters. Place on an ungreased
baking sheet and bake in a preheated 300F (150C) oven for 1
hour. Makes about 3 dozen small cookies.
