Starting this month I'm sharing a crafty project once a month'ish. I have assorted things, so it isn't all just one type of craft. If you're looking for something to do in a different style than what I shared, let me know and I'll see what I have. Project styles will change monthly.



Light Saber Freezie Sleeve
Crochet Pattern

Materials Used:
Worsted weight yarn in Gray and Black
Scrap bright color yarn for button
Size H/8 (5.00mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Size/Gauge:
Small fits standard narrow tubes. (Finished sleeve measures 5" long x 2" wide at opening.)
Large fits standard wide tubes. (Finished sleeve measures 5" long x 2.5" wide at opening.)
Gauge: 7 hdc sts=2"
5 hdc rows=2"

Stitches Used/Abbreviations:
ch-chain
rnd-round
sc-single crochet
hdc-half double crochet
Bphdc-work half double crochet stitches around the back of the post of indicated stitch(es)
Bobble-Yarn over, insert hook in st. Yarn over, draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. (Leaves 2 loops on hook)Yarn over, insert hook in same st. Yarn over, draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. (Leaves 3 loops on hook)Yarn over, insert hook in same st. Yarn over, draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. (Leaves 4 loops on hook) Yarn over, draw through all 4 loops on hook.
RSC-reverse single crochet, or "Crab stitch"
sl st-slip stitch

Instructions:

Small Sleeve:
Rnd 1: With Gray, ch 3. Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Work 4 sc in last ch. Working the opposite side of the chain, work 2 sc in last st. Join with a sl st to 1st st. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in 1st st. Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in last st. Join. (12 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. Bphdc in each at around. Join. (12 sts) Drop Gray, join Black.
Rnd 4: ch 1, TURN. *Bobble in next st. Sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (12 sts) Fasten off Black, pick up Gray.
Rnd 5: ch 1, TURN. Hdc in each st around. Join. (12 sts)
Rnds 6-8: ch 1, DO NOT TURN, from here on. Hdc in each st around. Join. (12 sts) Drop Gray. Join Black.
Rnd 9: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (12 sts) Drop Black, pick up Gray.
Rnd 10: ch 1. Hdc in each st around. Join. (12 sts) Drop Gray, pick up Black.
Rnd 11: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (12 sts) Drop Black, pick up Gray.
Rnds 12-13: ch 1. Hdc in each st around. Join. (12 sts) Fasten off Gray at end of rnd 13. Pick up Black.
Rnd 14: ch 1. RSC in each st around. Join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Using a yarn needle and bright colored scrap yarn, stitch a square "button" across 2 stitches in rnd 10. (See photos)

Large Sleeve:
Rnd 1: With Gray, ch 5. Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook.Sc in each of the next 2 chs. Work 4 sc in last ch. Working the opposite side of the chain, sc in each of the next 2 chs. Work 2 sc in last st. Join with a sl st to 1st st. (12 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in 1st st. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Work 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Work 2 sc in last st. Join. (16 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. Bphdc in each at around. Join. (16 sts) Drop Gray, join Black.
Rnd 4: ch 1, TURN. *Bobble in next st. Sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (16 sts) Fasten off Black, pick up Gray.
Rnd 5: ch 1, TURN. Hdc in each st around. Join. (16 sts)
Rnds 6-8: ch 1, DO NOT TURN, from here on. Hdc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Drop Gray. Join Black.
Rnd 9: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Drop Black, pick up Gray.
Rnd 10: ch 1. Hdc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Drop Gray, pick up Black.
Rnd 11: ch 1. Sc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Drop Black, pick up Gray.
Rnds 12-13: ch 1. Hdc in each st around. Join. (16 sts) Fasten off Gray at end of rnd 13. Pick up Black.
Rnd 14: ch 1. RSC in each st around. Join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
