
This is a Brazilian Portuguese stew for luncheon or dinner.
Ingredients:
Four strips bacon
One brat
One pork chop
Five carrots, turnips, parsnips or other root vegetable for base
1 t. cumin
1 t. garlic salt
1/3 can chicken consommé
1/3 can water
1/3 can refried beans or black beans, drained
1/3 can okra
Apple slices
Instructions:
Cook and slice vegetables. Cook and crumble bacon. Cook and cube brat and pork chop. Blend cumin, garlic salt, consommé, water, beans, okra, and meat. Pour stew over vegetable base and garnish with apple slices. Other toppings may include parmesan or grated hard boiled eggs.
